Hawkinge is a village and civil parish located in the district of Folkestone and Hythe in Kent, England.
The village played a significant role during World War II as the site of RAF Hawkinge, an important fighter airfield during the Battle of Britain. Today, this military heritage is preserved in the Kent Battle of Britain Museum, which houses one of the most significant collections of Battle of Britain artifacts in the country.
The village has grown from its historical roots as a small farming community to become a residential area while maintaining strong connections to its wartime past. Its strategic location near the English Channel and proximity to Folkestone has shaped its development and historical significance.
