Jagsthausen is a municipality in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The town is situated along the Jagst River, from which it derives its name.
Jagsthausen is particularly known for its well-preserved Götzenburg (Götz Castle), a medieval castle that was once home to Götz von Berlichingen, a famous German Imperial Knight of the 16th century. The castle now serves as a cultural center and hosts open-air theater performances during summer months.
The town maintains its historical character through its traditional architecture and agricultural surroundings, typical of the Heilbronn region. The area has a rich archaeological heritage, with evidence of Roman settlement, including the remains of a Roman fort that was part of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes, now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
