Llanrwst is a historic market town situated in the picturesque Conwy Valley of North Wales. The town, with its rich Welsh heritage, dates back to medieval times and has played an important role in Welsh history.
A notable landmark is the three-arched stone bridge, Pont Fawr (meaning 'Great Bridge'), built in 1636 by Sir Richard Wynn of Gwydir. The town center features traditional Welsh architecture, including the almshouses known as Tu Hwnt i'r Bont (Beyond the Bridge), now a quaint tearoom.
Llanrwst has strong cultural connections, having hosted several National Eisteddfods, Wales' premier cultural festival. The town also houses Gwydir Chapel, part of St. Grwst's Church, which contains important examples of Welsh Renaissance architecture and carved woodwork.
