Memleben is a small municipality located in the Burgenlandkreis district of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The town holds significant historical importance as it was once the site of a medieval imperial palace and Benedictine monastery.

Two German kings and emperors of the Ottonian dynasty died here: Henry I in 936 and Otto I in 973. The monastery, founded in 979, was one of the most important religious centers in the region during the Middle Ages.

Today, visitors can explore the archaeological remains of the former monastery church and crypt, which serve as important testimonies to the architectural and cultural heritage of medieval Germany. The site includes a museum that documents the history of the former imperial palace and monastery.
