Nether Stowey is a village in Somerset, England, situated at the foot of the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has significant literary heritage, most notably as the home of the Romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge from 1797 to 1799. During his time here, Coleridge wrote some of his most famous works, including "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and "Kubla Khan."

The village maintains much of its historical character with several buildings dating from the medieval period, including St. Mary's Church and the remains of a Norman castle. Coleridge Cottage, where the poet lived, is now preserved by the National Trust and serves as a museum dedicated to his life and work. The village continues to attract visitors interested in its literary connections and historical architecture, while serving as a gateway to exploring the surrounding natural landscape.
