Núcleo Bandeirante is an administrative region located in the Federal District of Brazil, approximately 13 kilometers from the center of Brasília. Originally established in 1956 as a temporary settlement called Cidade Livre (Free City), it played a crucial role in housing the workers who built Brazil's modernist capital, Brasília.

The settlement was meant to be demolished after Brasília's completion, but due to the residents' resistance and historical importance, it was officially recognized as a permanent city in 1961. Today, Núcleo Bandeirante is a modest urban area that preserves part of its pioneering spirit through its architecture and local culture. The region maintains its historical significance as one of the first settlements in the Federal District and serves as a reminder of the massive undertaking that was the construction of Brasília.
