Padula is a historic town located in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of southern Italy. The town is primarily known for being home to one of Italy's largest and most significant monastic complexes, the Certosa di San Lorenzo (Charterhouse of Padula). This Carthusian monastery, founded in 1306, is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998.

The town itself is situated in the Vallo di Diano, a fertile valley surrounded by mountains, and maintains its medieval character with narrow streets and historic buildings. Besides its architectural heritage, Padula has a rich cultural tradition that includes local crafts and gastronomy, particularly known for its local olive oil production and traditional agricultural practices.
