Poland is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. Located in the western part of the state, this rural community was first settled in 1779 and incorporated in 1795. The town is known for its natural beauty, with several ponds and lakes, including Middle Range Pond and Upper Range Pond, which have historically been popular summer recreation destinations.
Poland was also home to Poland Spring, which became famous in the late 19th century for its mineral water and luxury resort, the Poland Spring House. The Poland Spring Preservation Park now preserves some of this history. The town maintains its rural character while being within commuting distance of larger cities like Lewiston and Auburn.
