Ramsey is a historic market town in Cambridgeshire, England, located approximately 10 miles north of Huntingdon. The town's history is deeply connected to Ramsey Abbey, a former Benedictine monastery founded in the 10th century, which played a significant role in the region's medieval development.

Though the abbey was dissolved during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, its gatehouse still stands as a reminder of the town's rich heritage. Today, Ramsey maintains its traditional market town character with a mix of historic architecture and modern amenities. The surrounding fenland landscape has influenced the town's development and cultural identity throughout its history. The area is known for its agricultural heritage and the preservation of local traditions.

Worth visiting, and we had a good tour guide. However many of the beautiful rooms photographed to publicise the site were closed, a little misleading and disappointing. Nevertheless, together with the Musee Horta, it's great to see such beautiful Art
