Ravenglass is a historic coastal village in Cumbria, situated where three rivers - the Esk, Mite, and Irt - meet the Irish Sea. It holds the distinction of being the only coastal village within the Lake District National Park.

The village has a rich history dating back to Roman times when it served as an important naval base, evidenced by the remains of the Ravenglass Roman Bath House, one of the largest surviving Roman structures in England. During medieval times, Ravenglass developed as a fishing port and market town.

Today, the village is known for its connection to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, a narrow-gauge heritage railway that runs through seven miles of spectacular Lake District scenery. The area's cultural heritage is reflected in its well-preserved architecture, including historic buildings and the nearby Muncaster Castle, which has been home to the Pennington family for over 800 years.
