For example, the city of Timişoara is nicknamed Little Vienna, and the capital Bucharest was nicknamed Little Paris in the 1920s and 1930s. Sibiu, Braşov, Biertan and Sighişoara are also important, all medieval cities of Transylvania. The country has 8 entries on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Romania has a diverse culture, which is reflected in architecture and art objects. The country is very proud of their discoveries and inventions. Important inventions include the Coandă effect, insulin and the fountain pen.
