Saint Vigeans is a historic village located near Arbroath in Angus, Scotland. The settlement grew around an early medieval church site dedicated to Saint Vigean, a 6th-century Irish missionary.
The village is particularly notable for its exceptional collection of Pictish carved stones, which date from the 8th to the 10th centuries. These stone sculptures, displaying both Christian and Pictish symbols, represent one of the most important collections of early medieval sculpture in Scotland.
The historic Saint Vigeans Church, built in the 12th century, stands on a natural mound where the original church is believed to have been founded. The village maintains its historical character while being integrated into the broader cultural landscape of Angus.
