Sankt Florian is a historic market town in Upper Austria, located approximately 15 kilometers southeast of Linz. The town is primarily known for its impressive Augustinian monastery, the St. Florian Monastery (Stift Sankt Florian), which stands as one of the most significant baroque monasteries in Austria.

Founded in the 9th century, the current baroque building dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The monastery houses significant cultural treasures, including a renowned library with medieval manuscripts, an important art collection, and the famous Bruckner organ, named after the composer Anton Bruckner who served as the monastery's organist. The town and monastery are named after Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters and Upper Austria.

Beyond its religious significance, Sankt Florian serves as an important cultural center in the region, hosting various musical events and concerts throughout the year.
