Socastee is an unincorporated community located in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. Situated near the Atlantic coast, this historic community dates back to the late 18th century and takes its name from the Native American tribe that once inhabited the area.

The community lies along the Intracoastal Waterway, which has played a significant role in its development and local culture. While historically an agricultural area known for tobacco farming, Socastee has evolved into a growing residential area that maintains its small-town character while benefiting from its proximity to Myrtle Beach.

The area preserves some of its historical heritage through structures like the Socastee Historic District, which includes the Socastee Bridge, a swing-span bridge constructed in 1935 that has become a notable local landmark.
