Street is a village and civil parish located in the county of Somerset, England. The settlement has a rich history dating back to Roman times and was historically known for its connection to the leather and shoemaking industry, particularly through the Clark family who founded the famous Clarks shoe company here in 1825. The village grew significantly around this industry, which has shaped much of its cultural heritage.

Despite its name, Street was actually derived from the Latin 'strata', referring to the Roman road that once passed through the area. The village lies at the foot of Glastonbury Tor, a prominent hill and historic site, and is situated in the Somerset Levels, an area known for its distinctive landscape and wetland habitat.

Today, Street maintains its historic character while serving as a modern commercial center, with the Clarks Village outlet shopping center being a notable attraction that pays homage to the town's industrial heritage.
