Styal is a historic village in Cheshire, England, primarily known for its connection to the Industrial Revolution through the preserved Quarry Bank Mill complex. The village developed in the late 18th century around the cotton mill, which was established by Samuel Greg in 1784. The mill and its surrounding area now form part of one of Britain's greatest industrial heritage sites.
The village itself retains much of its original character, with workers' cottages and community buildings that were built to house and serve the mill workers. The area provides insight into early industrial communities and the social history of textile manufacturing in Britain. Today, Styal continues to attract visitors interested in industrial heritage and offers a glimpse into the lives of workers during the Industrial Revolution.
