Varallo is a historic town situated in the Valsesia valley of northern Italy. The town is particularly known for the Sacro Monte di Varallo, a UNESCO World Heritage site established in the late 15th century. This religious complex, consisting of 45 chapels with frescoes and over 800 life-sized statues, represents scenes from the life of Christ and is considered one of the oldest and most important Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy.

The town itself features notable examples of Renaissance architecture, including the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie with its remarkable fresco cycle. Varallo's artistic heritage is also preserved in the Pinacoteca di Varallo, which houses significant works of local and regional art. The town maintains its medieval character with narrow streets and historic buildings, while serving as a cultural center for the Valsesia region.
