Willow Bunch is a small town located in south-central Saskatchewan, Canada. The community has a rich history rooted in Métis culture and French-Canadian settlement, dating back to the late 1800s. Originally known as Talle-de-Saules in French, the town played a significant role in the early development of Saskatchewan.
The area is known for its unique natural landscape, featuring rolling hills and the nearby Wood Mountain uplands. The town has preserved much of its cultural heritage, particularly its French-Canadian and Métis influences, which are reflected in local historical sites and community traditions. The area gained some notoriety for being home to Édouard Beaupré, known as the Willow Bunch Giant, who was one of the tallest recorded persons in history. Today, the community maintains its small-town character while preserving its historical significance through local museums and cultural initiatives.
