The Prague Zoo opened in 1931 and occupies around 60 hectares where it is home to around 5,000 animals from over 650 different species. The zoo is especially famous for their contributions to saving Przewalski's horse. The part of Zoo along the banks of the Vltava River is flat, but a large part of Zoo Prague is hilly. The flat part includes the residences of primates, birds of prey, water birds, cats and gavials. The hilly park area is home to ungulates, as well as themed places such as the Indonesian Jungle, Africa Near and a place for hippos and Asian elephants. The Africa Savanna is located outside the Prague Zoo.

Prague Zoo has 2 ratings.

This is one of the biggest zoos in Europe and really worth a visit on a sunny day when you're in Prague! Especially when you have (small) kids this place is recommended. The zoo has a large variety of animals and is easily reached by public transport. Planning in advance what you want to see and how you're going to do this is recommended!
