Exhibition 'Historical Library' in Museum of Zoology "P. Doderlein"

Inside the Museum, new exhibitions have recently been set up to bring to light the personal library of Pietro Doderlein, a priceless documentary heritage.
From the 16th century bestiary of the Gessner to the 17th century Aldrovandi. From the systematic encyclopedia of Cuvier (who is considered the father of Comparative Anatomy and Paleontology of Vertebrates) to the exceptional volumes of Ichthyology, written by Bloch – this is a little taste of the vast book collection of the Museum, the result of the work of museum’s tireless founder.
There is an exhibition reserved exclusively to some documents that show the work of Pietro Doderlein as a physician, scientist, professor and interlocutor of the most important exponents of international scientific research of that time and of Palermo’s culture during the second half of the 19th century.
