Exhibition 'Knollenland' in MOW I Museum Westerwolde
What do animals do with the various landscapes, and how does that shape our perception of them? In the artexhibition Knollenland, you will explore the fauna of the Groningen countryside.
Humans and animals
Get to know animal life that we can barely see with the naked eye, as well as animals in their roles as landscape shapers.
Reflect on the coexistence of humans and animals, which is far from always romantic. While we love kingfishers and butterflies, how do we deal with biting mosquitoes and dangerous ticks? And how can animals live undisturbed in a landscape claimed by humans?
Discover the extras
Knollenland extends beyond the walls of the MOW. Would you like to experience the exhibition as a walk? You can. Along the way, spot various animals that have a special connection with Westerwolde, or listen to short human and animal stories in the museum forest.
Leave your mark
In an interactive setup, you are invited to think about biodiversity in the countryside, and under the title Geschoten (Shot), you can contribute animal portraits as an enthusiastic nature photographer.
Young visitors can explore the exhibition through an exciting, specially designed route.
