Exhibition 'Ons laand' in MOW I Museum Westerwolde
Artists have been inviting people for centuries to see our country through their eyes, in beauty, wonder, and sometimes confusion. The exhibition "Ons laand" combines historical pieces with expressions from modern artists and shows you how Westerwolde has been an inspiration for them for centuries.
Older works show us a world that we sometimes barely recognize, with laborers in the fields, sandy paths, horse-drawn carts. Newer works play with the structures and colors of the land or with phenomena such as the wind, racing across the expansive landscape.
In the exhibition, you will encounter diverse works from the MOW's own collection and works on loan from elsewhere. You'll discover landmarks in the Westerwoldse landscape and see, among other things, a grand and surprising composition of contemporary work, to which more than 150 artists contribute.
In various ways, you can also leave your own traces in "Ons laand". Young visitors can embark on an adventure in a special pop-up platform exhibition, curated by the museum's child board members.
