Amalienborg and its collection

Amalienborg
Source

The Amalienborg is a Rococo palace complex in Copenhagen that serves as the residence of the Danish royals. It consists of four palaces that are exact copies of one another, all organized symmetrically around a small square. The statue of a man on a horse in the middle of the square depicts king Frederick V, who ruled the country in the 18th century. The palaces, built between 1750 and 1760, have been the home to the Danish monarchs ever since the Christiansborg Palace burned to the ground in 1794. The Christian VII's Palace serves as a museum and is open to visitors. Visit at noon if you want to see the ceremony of changing of royal guards.
