The museum is home to one of the most significant collections of Guanche aboriginal ceramics in the Canary Islands, featuring unique pieces that can only be found in Tenerife. This collection provides a unique insight into the artistic and cultural practices of the Guanche people.
The museum is situated in La Ranilla, one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Puerto de la Cruz. This location is right on the dividing line that separates local life from the tourist sphere, offering visitors a unique blend of local culture and tourist attractions.
In addition to the Guanche ceramics, the museum's collections also include anthropological remains, such as several Guanche mummies, a small collection of lithic industry, which makes up 27 percent of the total collection, and a magnificent collection of personal ornaments made from mollusk shells. These collections offer a comprehensive view of the Guanche culture and lifestyle.
