Arter is a contemporary art museum located in the Dolapdere district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was established in 2010 as a subsidiary of the Vehbi Koç Foundation. The museum's primary aim is to provide a sustainable infrastructure for the production and exhibition of contemporary art.
In September 2019, Arter relocated to a new building in the Dolapdere district of Istanbul. In this new location, the museum has expanded its range of activities beyond exhibitions, now also hosting performances and events across a variety of disciplines.
Arter's new building, designed by London-based Grimshaw Architects, boasts an indoor area of 18,000 square metres. The building houses not only exhibition galleries but also performance halls, learning areas, a library, an arts bookstore, and a bistro.
