The Museum of Sacred Art of Bilbao (Museo Diocesano de Arte Sacro, MDAS) is located in the old Convent of the Encarnación in Bilbao. The museum holds a collection of more than 2.300 artworks, of which 500 are exhibited. The objects in its collection date from the 12th to the 20th century and they all come from places of religion of the province of Biscay, including churches, chapels and monasteries. Many of them were made in Biscay and by Biscayan artists. The exhibition is divided in three different sections: sculpture-painting, objects made of precious metal and vestments.
