The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a museum of modern and contemporary art in Bilbao that is designed by Canadian architect Frank Gehry. It is one of the museums that belongs to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. The most striking feature of the museum is the innovativ, e building in which it is located, consisting of curvilinear and twisted shapes, clad in glass, titanium, and limestone. It has a total area of ​​24,000 sqm, of which 10,540 sqm is reserved for exhibitions in its 19 galleries. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao notably houses large-scale, site-specific works and installations by well known international contemporary artists.

    The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. We recommend you first spend some time walking around the outside of the building (on a sunny day!). After that, go inside and stroll through the galleries and spaces and enjoy the wonderful architecture and (large) pieces of art.
