The Ephesos Museum in Vienna holds and exhibits a collection that has existed since the end of the 19th century that is part of the collection of antiquities of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Ephesus was one of the largest cities in the ancient world and is today one of the most visited tourist destinations in Turkey. Between 1896 and 1906 a total of seven expeditions transported findings from Ephesus to Vienna. Major exhibits include the Amazon from the Artemision Altar, the Parthian Monument and the Bronze Statue of an Athlete.
