At the Flipje and Regional Museum, the stories of Tiel and the River Region come to life. You can explore the different historical periods that played an important role in the history of Tiel. For example, in "World First from Tiel", the excavation of a 4,000-year-old solar calendar takes center stage. You'll also discover how Tiel came into existence and what the city has experienced over the centuries. In the "WWII Information Center", you can learn about the impact of the Second World War on Tiel. From the information center, you can visit the many memorials located throughout the region. "Fruit City on the Waal" shows the journey of fruit from the tree to the jam jar. Fruit City is also home to Flipje of Tiel, the advertising character of the local fruit factory. At the museum, you can admire Flipje – along with many products that feature his image. The museum also houses the "ArcheoHotspot Tiel". There’s plenty to discover!
