Den Hirschsprungske Samling, or Hirschsprung Collection is a museum in Copenhagen that is dedicated to visual art from Denmark, mostly from the 19th century. The Hirschsprung Collection is chronologically exhibited. Much space is reserved for artists from the Danish Golden Age, but later 19th-century movements such as Det Moderne Gennembrud (The Modern Breakthrough), the Danish symbolists and the Skagenschilders are also well represented. In addition to paintings, sculptures, drawings and sketchbooks, the museum also houses a large collection of furniture and personal belongings from Danish artists from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
