Imperial Armoury and its collection

Imperial Armoury
Source

The Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer is the Imperial Armoury in Vienna that illustrates many centuries of European history through its collection of decorated harnesses, saddles and firearms. A highlight in the museum is the golden sword of Maximilian II (1527-1576), one of the most beautiful weapons in the world, as well as the breastplate of King Ferdinand of Aragon (1452-1516). Almost all Western European ruling houses are represented here with objects from the 15th to the early 20th century.
