Legion of Honor

The Legion of Honor, originally known as the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, is an American art museum that was inaugurated in 1924. It is situated in the city of San Francisco, California. This museum is a part of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and is a significant cultural landmark in the city.

Location and Attractions of the Museum

The Legion of Honor is located in Lincoln Park, in the western part of San Francisco. The museum offers a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It houses a collection of approximately 80 works by Rodin and its architecture is directly inspired by the Paris Legion of Honor Museum. These features make it a popular spot among tourists.

The Legion of Honor boasts a diverse collection that includes sculptures, objects, and paintings from all continents and dating back to the Middle Ages.
