The Museum of Bags and Purses is housed in an old mayor house from 1664. It is the largest museum dedicated to bags in the world. The museum presents an overview of five hundred years of history of the Western bag from the late Middle Ages till the present. The collection consists of more than four thousand objects from a 16th century goat leather pouch to a bag of Madonna. The museum covers fashion, various styles in applied arts and social developments through the ages.

Het pand waar het museum zich in bevindt is een unesco-pand. Erg mooi dus. De collectie is ook zeker goed te noemen. Wel is het museum aan de prijs, maar met een museumkaart prima te doen uiteraard (gratis!). High tea zou ik overslaan.
Het museum heeft een fijne, ruim opgezette collectie in een mooi gebouw. Het is vrij klein, maar zeker bijzonder om zoveel tassen bij elkaar te zien en er informatie over te lezen. Aanrader met vriendinnen!
