The Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights (KGB Museum) is housed in the former KGB headquarters, where crimes of the Soviet regime were planned and executed. The museum includes the former KGB prison, the premises for death sentences and an exhibition about independence and repressions by Soviet authorities. The museum is roughly divided into 2 parts. The upper two floors are devoted to the Lithuanian partisans’ resistance, the deportations and day-to-day life in the LTSR, whilst the other part of the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights features the prison cells, and execution and torture chambers in the basement.
