The National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona, also known as Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona or MNAT, is a public museum situated in the city of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain. The museum is home to a variety of elements and remains that reflect the city's rich history and heritage.
The MNAT not only manages the Archaeological Museum but also oversees the Paleochristian Museum and Necropolis, the Roman villa of Els Munts in Altafulla, and the Roman villa of Centcelles in Constantí. Additionally, it is responsible for the monuments of the Arch of Bará and the Tower of the Scipios, the Roman Theater, and the Tinglado 4.
The museum's collections include archaeological pieces from the Roman era of Tarraco and the early Christian period, as well as a library. The collections feature pieces from the 16th century onwards, with most of the items on display having been discovered during excavations conducted over the past 150 years.
