The National Gallery of Ireland was established by an Act of Parliament in 1854 and opened to the public in January 1864. It has over 10,000 works, such as water-colours, drawings, prints and sculpture. The National Gallery of Ireland has over 2500 paintings. The paintings in the museum represent all major European schools of painting. There is a Yeats museum inside the National Gallery of Ireland which features works by Jack B. Yeats, his father John Butler and other members of the artistic family. Besides this, The National Gallery of Ireland features the award winning Millenium wing.
