Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, located in Norwich, England, offers visitors a diverse experience combining history, art, and culture. The museum is housed in a striking Norman castle, which itself is a major attraction.

The museum's exhibits cover a wide range of topics, from local history and archaeology to fine art and natural history. Many visitors appreciate the well-curated displays that provide insights into Norfolk's past, including Roman and Anglo-Saxon artifacts. The castle keep, with its impressive architecture, allows visitors to explore medieval life and the building's history.

The art gallery showcases a notable collection of paintings, particularly strong in Norwich School artists, which is often highlighted as a highlight by art enthusiasts. The museum also features interactive elements and hands-on activities, making it engaging for families and children.

While many visitors find the museum informative and enjoyable, some mention that certain areas could benefit from updates or more modern presentation techniques. Additionally, a few reviewers note that the entry fee can be considered a bit high, although others feel the experience justifies the cost.

Accessibility within the historic building can be challenging for some visitors, particularly in the keep area, which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. However, staff are generally described as helpful and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience.

The gift shop and café receive mixed reviews, with some finding them satisfactory while others suggest there's room for improvement.

Overall, Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery provides a solid cultural experience, offering a good balance of local history, art, and architecture, though there may be areas for enhancement to meet all visitors' expectations.

Was looking forward to visiting the castle as it was closed for renovations last year when we visited on holiday unfortunately one lady member of staff thought it was ok to physically assault my child by grabbing and yanking her arm TWICE making her cry then had the audacity to do it to my four year old aswell! No one has the right to put their hands on my children let alone hurt them! This is disgusting behaviour and they weren’t even doing anything wrong, they were standing nicely with us while we were scanning our tickets to enter. Thanks to this nasty woman we will never attempt to visit this place again and we WILL be making a formal complaint. This behaviour is NOT acceptable and people like this should NOT be allowed to work with the public particularly small children if they think they can put their hands on them. Absolutely disgraceful!!!!!
