The NZH Transportation Museum was created in 1981 to mark the 100th anniversary of the transportation company NZHVM. Later called the NZH. In its existence it was the largest public transport company in the Netherlands with 1000 buses and about 3000 employees. The transport area stretched between Texel and The Hague, also the city transport in Haarlem was driven by the NZH. The Stichting NZH Vervoer Museum is located in a former furniture factory in the Waarderpolder in Haarlem. With an area of 2000 m² there is sufficient, well-lit space, for the presentation of our historic buses and streetcars. The museum is wheelchair friendly.

The NZH Public Transport Museum in Haarlem offers visitors a journey through the history of public transportation in the Netherlands. The museum houses a collection of vintage trams, buses, and other vehicles that once served the Noord-Zuid-Hollandse Vervoer Maatschappij (NZH) network. Visitors can explore well-preserved examples of public transport from different eras, providing insight into the evolution of transportation technology and design.

The museum's strengths lie in its authentic collection and the opportunity it provides to step inside historical vehicles. Many visitors appreciate the nostalgic atmosphere and the chance to see how public transport has changed over the decades. The volunteer staff is often praised for their knowledge and enthusiasm, adding value to the experience with their explanations and stories.

However, some visitors note that the museum is relatively small and can be explored quite quickly. The presentation of information could be improved, with some suggesting more interactive displays or audio guides to enhance the educational aspect. Additionally, the location can be a bit tricky to find for those unfamiliar with the area.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the museum generally receives positive feedback from those interested in transportation history or looking for a unique cultural experience in Haarlem. It's particularly appealing to families with children who enjoy climbing aboard the old vehicles and imagining what it was like to travel in them.

While not a major tourist attraction, the NZH Public Transport Museum offers a specialized and engaging experience for those curious about the region's transportation heritage.
