Riga Zoo is a city-owned zoo in Riga situated on the shores of Lake Kisezers that houses around 4000 animals of nearly 500 species. Visitors to the Riga Zoo can admire the wild animals, their behavior, as well cuddle and pet some animals that are kept in a traditional Latvian farmstead. In addition to the more historical buildings, the Riga Zoo also has some contemporary enclosures, including the the Tropical House, the Rural Farmstead, Giraffe House and the Tiger House.
