Eindhoven is a city in the Dutch province of North Brabant. The history of the city dates back to the Middle Ages. In 1232 Eindhoven received city rights. Partly because of the first Philips factory and some other factories, Eindhoven grew from a small town to a large, important city.
Eindhoven is known as a young, dynamic and innovative city with a modern look. In addition, the city is characterized by technology, sports and art & design and the organization of major events like the Dutch Design Week, The Glow festival and the Lichtjesroute.
The city center of Eindhoven features many bars, restaurants and terraces. The 225-meter going out street Stratumseind is well known.
