Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat is a historic commune located in the Haute-Vienne department of central France. The town is named after Saint Leonard of Noblat, a 6th-century French nobleman who became a hermit and is considered the patron saint of prisoners.
The medieval town center is distinguished by its remarkable Romanesque collegiate church, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France. The church, dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, showcases impressive Romanesque architecture and has been an important stop for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
The town maintains its medieval character with narrow streets, half-timbered houses, and traditional crafts, particularly its long-standing porcelain-making tradition, which is part of the broader Limoges porcelain heritage of the region.
