Ikonenmuseum Kampen is housed in a historical monastery that used to be part of the convent of the Franciscans. The museum distinguishes itself from other museums with Christian and religious art by only exhibiting icons. The permanent exhibition consists of approximately 170 icons. The museum shows the role of icons and what they meant for the people. Twice a year, the permanent exhibition is combined with a temporary exhibition.

Een uniek museum met een mooie collectie authentieke ikonen.Momenteel is er een expositie met de titel :Onorthodox, waarbij Niels Broszat met zijn hedendaagse moderne ikonen de spannende confrontatie aangaat met ikonen uit de collectie, een zeer geslaagd experiment.Ook is nu de 'Schatkamer' op de oude zolder te bezichtigen, een rustieke ruimte volgehangen met schitterende ikonen.
Koffie en thee mogelijkheden zijn er op de fraaie overdekte binnenplaats.
Enthousiaste vrijwilligers geven desgewenst uitleg.Kluisjes zijn in de garderobe aanwezig
