Ikonenmuseum Kampen is housed in a historical monastery that used to be part of the convent of the Franciscans. The museum distinguishes itself from other museums with Christian and religious art by only exhibiting icons. The permanent exhibition consists of approximately 170 icons. The museum shows the role of icons and what they meant for the people. Twice a year, the permanent exhibition is combined with a temporary exhibition.
