McKay Avenue School opened in 1905, the same year Alberta became a province. In 1906 and 1907, McKay Avenue School served as the home for the first and second sessions of Alberta’s 1st Legislature. Explore the carefully restored Legislative Chamber, where parliamentarians made many foundational decisions–including designating Edmonton as Alberta’s capital city.
