On a quiet street overlooking Edmonton's river valley sits historic McKay Avenue School (built in 1904) and the 1881 Schoolhouse (built in 1881). More than their bricks and mortar, these historic landmarks provide a wealth of information and opportunities for engagement. Museum Exhibits: We are open to the public! Visitors will learn about the history of public education and the provincial government through self-guided and guided tours. Student Programs: Students participate in immersive, curriculum-based, "time traveling" field trips. Historical Research: Located in historic McKay Avenue School is Edmonton Public Schools Archives and Museum. As a public research facility, we encourage all to reach out to our team for assistance. Event Rentals: Our spaces are available for special events, such as wedding ceremonies and conferences.
