The Agathois Jules-Baudou Museum is a municipal museum situated in the heart of Agde, a city in the French department of Hérault, Occitanie region. The museum specializes in arts, popular traditions, and fine arts, offering a rich cultural experience to its visitors.
The Agathois Jules-Baudou Museum provides a journey through time, inviting visitors to explore the life of Agde from antiquity to the present day. The museum, renovated in 2011 and 2012, spans three levels and features 27 rooms filled with historical artifacts and exhibits.
The Agathois Jules-Baudou Museum was recognized as a museum of France in 2002. Its collections are centered around three main themes: interior reconstructions, jousts, traditional costumes and laces, models of boats, Captain's cabin, navigation instruments, and vine and wine. Among the most notable exhibits are the Art Nouveau furniture pieces created in 1898 by Léon Cauvy and Paul Arnavielhe.
