Kasteel-Museum Sypesteyn and its collection

Kasteel-Museum Sypesteyn is housed in a castle surrounded by gardens and canals. Jonkheer Catharinus Henricus Cornelis Ascanius of Sypesteyn had the castle built at the beginning of the 20th century and decorated it with portraits and other artefacts from the family. He later added a collection of clocks and a collection of Loosdrecht porcelain. The castle, the park and the collections together illustrate the history of the family Van Sypesteyn.
