The Staatliche Antikensammlungen (National Collections of Ancient Objects, Museum of Antiquities) is a museum in Munich with antiquities from Greece, Etruria and Rome. The building called Ausstellungsgebäude which houses the museum collections was built at the behest of Ludwig I, inspired by a temple from the late Greek classical age, and completed in 1848. The impressive collection that is on display in the Museum of Antiquities (Antikensammlungen) includes Greek and Etruscan vases, porcelain and glass works, bronze and terracotta statues and jewellery.
