Museum Our Lord in the Attic and its collection

Museum Our Lord in the Attic
Source

Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder is a former clandestine church. The building looks like an ordinary canal house. It is one of the oldest museums in the Netherlands. The 17th century church with an altar, corridors and approximately 150 seats is situated in the attic. After the Protestant Reformation, public church services were banned and this church arose. The church was used for church services for over two hundred years.

Erg mooie schuilkerk in een authentiek grachtenpand in hartje Amsterdam! Van buiten niet te zien, des te groter is de verrassing als je binnen bent. De audiotour is zeker aan te raden.

We really loved the museum and the lovely history and story associated with it. It is really amazing to see what people do for their faith. The audio tour was nice and also child friendly. It took about 30 minutes but there was plenty to see!
