The National Archaeological Museum of Naples (Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli) is an hisotry museum in Naples mostly known for its ancient Roman remains. The collection the museum holds however, includes artifacts from Greek, Roman and Renaissance times, and especially Roman artifacts from nearby Pompeii, Stabiae and Herculaneum. A highlights in the collection is the Herculaneum papyri, carbonized by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, found after 1752 in Villa of the Papyri.
