The National Museum of Ethnology is housed in the monumental, former academic hospital. It owns more than 240,000 objects and 500,000 audiovisual sources from around the world. The collection ranges from pants from polar bears’ fur to Indian headdresses and old pictures of Australian Aboriginals to Indonesian daggers. Wall-sized projections illustrate the people and culture related to the objects. The museum also regularly organises temporary exhibitions and for children there is an interactive scavenger hunt through the museum.

    Dit museum is zeer de moeite waard. Erg veel te zien en te leren en het brengt je dichter bij alle andere culturen. Gesitueerd in een super pand centraal in Leiden. Wat wil je nog meer?

    Mooi groot museum met vele schatten van over onze hele wereld. Voor kidneren ook genoeg te doen, waaronder een speurtocht. Hierdoor dus erg educatief voor kinderen. Ander positief punt is dat het er nooit echt heel druk aanvoelt en je dus lekker alles rustig kunt bekijken.
